Data and deletion
How to get a copy of everything Tallypath holds for you, and how to make it go away. Both are available on every plan, at no charge, and neither requires you to ask permission.

Getting a copy of your records
Export from inside the app, under Settings. You get ordinary files — comma-separated data for trips, expenses and receipts, and the original receipt images — that open in a spreadsheet and can be handed to a bookkeeper without conversion. There is no export fee and no limit on how often you do it.
If you would rather we produced the copy for you, write to developer@tallypath.app with "Data request" in the subject line and we will send it within 30 days.
Deleting part of your data
Not everything has to be all-or-nothing.
- Delete a route and the trip survives with its distance intact — the map data goes, the mileage record stays.
- Delete an individual trip, receipt, expense or budget from its own screen.
- Turn off background location and keep using the app with manual trips.
Deleting your account
Delete your account from Settings in the app. You will be asked to confirm, because it cannot be undone.
You can also ask us to do it: write to developer@tallypath.app from the address on the account, with "Delete my account" in the subject line. We will confirm you control the account and then carry it out.
What deletion actually removes
Deleting your account removes:
- your profile and authentication credentials;
- every trip, route and mileage record;
- every expense, receipt and attached photograph, including any fields extracted from a receipt;
- your vehicles, categories, budgets and saved reports;
- and the association between your account and any device that used it.
Live systems are cleared within 30 days of the request. Encrypted backups are rotated on a fixed schedule and deleted records age out of them within 90 days; they are never used to restore content you asked us to remove.
What is kept, and why
Two things survive deletion, for reasons that are not about us keeping your records.
- Transaction and tax records we are legally required to retain — the fact that a subscription was purchased, and when. These contain no trip, receipt or expense data.
- Security and abuse logs, retained briefly and in a form not used to reconstruct your records.
Your subscription is a separate matter: deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google. Cancel it in your store account settings, or you will continue to be charged for a service you no longer have an account on.
If something is unclear
Write to developer@tallypath.app. A person who works on the app will answer you, and if we cannot do what you have asked we will tell you why rather than not replying.
